CANDICE ROSE
Painter

Candice Rose is a painter, multidisciplinary creative and entrepreneur. Candice lives and works on Bundjalung Country in Northern New South Wales, Australia.

‘I first encountered Candice’s work many years ago. I was struck by the texture, movement and repetition. Drawn in. Now when I consider its allure, I determine it is the repetition that resonates with the internal human part of me, that which is comprised of patterns and pulses, like all of nature.

It was like looking at a song and noticing all the components that make music feel familiar and inviting - beat, colour, tone - a sense a story etched. Candice’s approach, across all the mediums she works in, has a distinct style, a dedication and commitment to beautifully executed design, composition and colour. It is unmistakable true class. Clean, classic, kind.

The TTHGallery is absolutely honored to have a piece of Candice’s work featured this month. Truely honored to have her artistry as part of the tapestry of creatives and artworks that are elevating The Tiny Honorable Gallery as one of the most spectacular micro galleries in Australia featuring truely world class artwork.

I was inspired to leave all of Candice’s achievements and rich impressive creative endeavours aside. To compliment the core values of the work she has created for this September show. This month we are tuning into her personal intention. To simplify, to strip back, the live a more spacious, balanced life. Minimal. Simple’

My work is an exploration of simplicity. I am drawn to the quiet spaces between things - the way a line, a shape, or a tone can hold meaning. By stripping back, I find clarity. By leaving things unsaid, I create room for reflection.

In my world, I am eternally busy and productive. It's like a curse unto myself. If I am not working on something with my hands and my thoughts, I feel left behind.

In this piece I find the repetition hypnotic - a calm, soothing technique to unravel.

Minimalism, for me, is not about absence but presence. The balance of form, and the calm that arises when nothing is forced. A meditation, a pause, a breath- an invitation to slow down and notice what might otherwise go unseen.

Through this practice, I remind myself that simplicity has its own richness, and that in the space of less, we can find more.
